Note: Original enlistment was December 24, 1855 in Carlisle or Leesburg, Pennsylvania and assigned to F Co, 2d U.S. Dragoons. He was 16.

Second enlistment was October 15, 1860 at Fort Kearney, Nebraska. He held the rank of bugler in the 2d U.S. Cavalry.

He stood 5′ 10″ with brown hair and blue eyes.
