Notes: Enlisted prior to commissioning. Reached the rank of Sergeant Major on 3 Nov 1842 to 30 December 1846. He was the first Sergeant Major of the Regiment.

Promoted to 2LT on 20 May 1847. Brevet 1Lt 20 August 1847 for gallantry and meritorious conduct at the battle of Churubusco, Mexico. Promoted to 1LT on 11 October 1851.
